# Farm Expansion

Your farm starts small, but it does not stay small forever.

As your Farming level increases, more farm plots become available.

### Starting plots

You begin with **12 usable plots**.

These are enough to learn the farming loop and start earning your first crops.

### Unlocking more plots

Every **3 Farming levels**, you unlock **6 more plots**.

| Farming Progress       | Result          |
| ---------------------- | --------------- |
| Starting farm          | 12 usable plots |
| Every 3 Farming levels | +6 plots        |

### Locked plots

Locked plots cannot be used yet.

They may appear darker or overgrown until they are unlocked.

Once unlocked, they become part of your active farm and can be used like normal plots.

### Why expansion matters

More plots means more crops growing at the same time.

A larger farm lets you plan better harvests, earn more crops, and progress faster.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.playlittlefarmers.com/player-guides/farm-expansion.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
